This is an administrative position that works under the general supervision of the Support Services Technician Supervisor. This employee is responsible for issuing uniforms and related equipment to employees, tracking supply and orders for items, and properly maintaining the stored items.

This is an administrative position that works under the general supervision of the Support Services Technician Supervisor. This employee is responsible for issuing uniforms and related equipment to employees, tracking supply and orders for items, and properly maintaining the stored items.
- Works on a daily basis with sworn and civilian employees issuing uniforms and equipment.
- Maintains a list of issued uniforms and equipment for tracking purposes.
- Maintains the inventory of uniforms and equipment on hand.
- Coordinates and tracks all orders of uniforms and equipment with approved vendors.
- Communicates as needed with designated personnel regarding expenditures to assist with managing the budget.
- Receives from employees aged or damaged uniforms and equipment and coordinates disposal.
- Receives and inventories uniforms and equipment from employees separating from the city.
- Drives to and from uniform and equipment vendors when necessary.
- Coordinates the annual inventory of equipment issued to all personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- General knowledge of police equipment and its usage.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to compile and maintain records of all uniforms and equipment issued to employees and/or stored within the department.
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with employees and vendors.
- Ability to learn basic measuring techniques to properly size employees for uniforms
- Computer skills as required for maintaining records, writing reports, contacting other departments to give and receive information, etc.
- Ability to use MS Office Suite software including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel and the ability to learn other related applications as needed.
- Successful drug screen and valid class "C" Georgia driver's license required at time of hire, including a satisfactory 7-year driving history, with no DUI in the last five years.
- Must submit to random drug screen if requested.
